Safety of Lavender and Tea Tree Essential Oils

Safety of Lavender and Tea Tree Essential Oils

⁣Have you all heard about the study conducted last year about the hormone disrupting qualities of lavender and tea tree essential oils? 😕 They were said to have caused breast development in young males after repeated use. 😱 Thankfully, it was reversible when they stopped their use of the oils.

It was purported that both oils contained highly estrogenic properties and were testosterone-inhibiting. 😬

I’m still on the fence as to if I believe this or not. On the one hand, the study is very eye-opening and I’ve never been incredibly keen on using essential oils for the body when there are so many other alternative remedies available that have had more observations and studies on safety in long-term use. 👍

On the other hand, this seems like a study done by conventional doctors that could work for pharma companies that very well may be eagerly working to discredit these types of remedies. How are we to know necessarily what the quality of the oils were that they used in this study? 🌺

In the light of this information, though, I am definitely removing my natural household and skincare products that contain these oils. ⁣🗑️⠀ ⠀

I’m already fighting hard to stay balanced as it is with all of the other endocrine-disrupting chemicals that are prevalent in our environments. Don’t need to potentially add to them. ⁣😷

What are your thoughts on this study? ⁣🤔
